The first recipient of the Sam Alimentato Technology Award for 2001 is Brad Fox.

Every year our family will award the most promising freshman at Hilton High School with a $100 savings bond in Sam's memory.

This money is from Sam's own savings account that he accumulated from his lawn business-Sam's Lawn Maintenance.

Sam bought a riding lawn mower (used) from the money he earned while doing lawns.

Sam also built a plow for his lawn mower which really worked.  He drew the plans and then I took him to Chase-Pitkin where he bought all the materials he needed.

He and a friend, Rob, took the materials to technology class where they cut and assembled everything.

Sam also was very good in electronics.  It was one of his favorite classes.  Before he was diagnosed with cancer, he wired up and installed electric lights for the front of the house.  He also made an electric light from the electric meters that you see in houses to measure your electricity usage.  He also wired up his train.

He was a very talented young man.
